I think they should hire me, for three reasons:

1) I’d really like the money.

2) I’d really like the front-row seat to every game.

3) It would do wonders for our 2009 draft pick.

he's been hampered from making adjustments. they took joe, they took q, they gave him kurt and boris. we lost our fire and 3-point ability. he had it going on and they fucked him. i won't throw him under the bus because he's been given a team frighteningly incongrous to what he wants to do.

The reports today talk of MikeD as if his leaving is an inevitibility. I think the article was Mitch Lawrence's column in the NY Daily News. Hes more fiction than fact, but im beginning to think MikeD is a goner.

I honestly like Avery as a coach, but am unsure about his fit for this team. Coaching-wise, he really is that good. And the fact that he and Kerr were teammates does come into play. Theyd probably share more a vision for the team, in general. For all the talk of Avery being too overbearing, i think he'd have to do a lot less with this team. HE couldnt coach Kidd cuz Kidd isnt a halfcoutr player. Nash is a halfcourt player that can run an offense and be a threat, but then where does he fit in defensively. We'd definitely run better offensive sets and be more fundamentally sound defensively, actually having defensive principles for a change. But you know guys like Barbosa and even Boris will bring out the worst in Avery, maybe Amare as well. He would make better use of a guy like Skinner or even DJ, tho.

fuck avery johnson. A lot of teams would be eager to pick up D'Antoni but nobody wants Dallas's garbage and I can't believe anyone here would even mention his name except to ridicule the little loud-mouthed bastard.

I vote for Steve Nash as player/coach.

that would be interesting, but highly unlikely. i think steve is simply a player and when his contract is up, he'll retire to nyc and produce indie films.

Fuck Avery Johnson and all 376 of his teeth. I can't stand that guy. I'd rather give the job to somebody like Tom Chambers before him. At least TC would probably have the balls to send some bench player into a game to put a hard foul on somebody once in a while.

It's too bad about MikeD. The FO fucked him a long time ago. His system doesn't work without at least three dead eye shooters on the court.

but, the problem here, isn't some of the issues d'antoni's fault since he was placed in the GM position too? i understand he shouldn't have been in the first place, but some of these moves were on him also.

Bold1: Thank you , dammit. That is so cold; you made me laugh loudly.

Bold2: So true. As we systematically lost/traded/etcc JJ, Q, House, JJack, TT, we eventually dwindled down from constantly having 3 long range threats to 2 at any given moment.

That's enough to kill the system right there.

Add to that Barbosa's Sybil-like consistency, and Bell's near same.....

This year, Nash *was* the 3 pt threat.

Mike's system needed no less than 3 assassins on the floor at any given time.
It was crumbling as early as last year. Sarver, Kerr and Mike failed to react quickly enough despite the warning signs.

As much as I liked Coach D, he seemed unable or unwilling to change quickly enough. Part of this is on ownership also, but we needed more shooters and another backup pg.....we knew this last year, why wasnt it addressed. Also, he needs to play more than 7 guys. He will never win anything not using a bench. I cant wait to see what he does with another team.

I totally agree about the shooters. That's why I was so mad we got rid of James Jones. We're in real trouble if we don't get some guys who can nail an open 3 or mid-range jumper.

Yep. Look at the Hornets with Peja, Petersen, and Paul.

In my brain, Cuttino Mobley and Morris Peterson are the same person. And Cat Mobley is so washed up that whenever I see Mo Pete, I assume he must be, too. He kind of has that "I'm getting old, my face is getting round and puffy and tired" look to him. But then he goes out and still has a good game. Interesting to see him in New Orleans, after being the 2nd banana to Vince Carter in Toronto before.

You mean running isolations on every play? I see Avery as a motivator who can keep the pressure on a team without burning them out, but doesn't do much with X's and O's, and can't take the pressure off when his team needs to loosen up a bit.
