If you want an amazing Xbox Live Arcade game, try Fez. It is a brilliant puzzle platformer where you are a marshmallowy looking guy living in a world where everybody only knows about 2 dimensions. Then you are told about the existence of the 3rd dimension and given the special ability to move around in 3D. This allows you to view the world in a whole new way, visit places your friends can't see, and find treasures and solve puzzles. It's extremely cool. Most creative and interesting game I have played this year, by a long shot.

I've thought about that concept before, in terms of how could the human brain possibly understand the *4th* dimension without going absolutely insane. Like my brain "crashes" when trying to describe concepts there are no even words for, i'm not even sure that I understand what i'm trying to say lmao.

But, the one time i smoked salvia, i'm convinced thats where i was. :P heh.

If you want to learn about the fourth dimension (time), read Stephen Hawking's A Briefer History of Time.

And do it as high as you can with a notebook and a pen by your side.

It's a hell of a trip.

As for videogames, I play little else than Counter Strike Source, NBA2k in association mode but just making moves (actually since NBA Live 99 I haven't played one single 'actual' basketball videogame) and old arcade emulators, mostly Metal Slug series.

i love emulators, i've been involved with them since the late 90s actually. the second i found out you could play nintendo games on the computer, i don't think i ever looked at another PC game ever again lol. i do play a lot of 2k13 against my friends while its slow at work, but i've never gone into the association mode. i'm setting up a TV in the front with a bunch emulators so people can play them up at the counter. A far as the fourth dimension, isn't there some debate on whether time actually qualifies? From our 3d perspective i'm sure time works, but I was actually trying to describe the concept of a 4th physical dimension - 4 axis instead of 3... like square, cube, tesseract (4d cube). Directions that we physically can't describe or explain, which to me seems to be a totally different concept than time as the 4th dimension.

I am not nearly smart enough to get into this conversation myself, though...

The concept of more dimensions is really interesting. Turns out Einstein 'proved' in his General Relativity theory that time and space are actually inseparable and work together, and that time is capable of experimenting physical events, like deformation. Even the Strings theory is said to need a bunch of additional dimentions to be matematically accurate.

I won't pretend I know this stuff in depth, but I know I love learning about it when I'm high. Usually I start reading but end up developing my own thoughts (I call it mental or brain masturbation), which too many times I've lost since I couldn't remember them properly the next day. That's why I suggested having papper and pen at hand.

At this point I'm too into the mouse and keboard combo. I never learned to use the newer generation controls, like Play Station or Xbox, and when I was a kid I didn't own a NES or SuperNes, tho I had a Sega Master System II and above all things I held holly, a GameBoy with a ton of games.

I was pretty bad at arcade games, but I really liked them, especially the fighting titles, tho what I petty much did was smashing all the buttons. Steet Fighter II and Mortal Kombat were awesome. I also loved 'level' titles (those are properly called arcades, aren't they?) like Alex Kid, Sonic or Joe and Mac. God times.

ahh, mouse and keyboard combo. Haven't used that since the days of Wolf3D and Doom. Lol. The Dual Analog sticks (if the game orients them correctly) give very precise movement and I've gotten quite used to it. In fact, when playing N64 games like Goldeneye on the emulators, I rearrange all the camera and movement buttons so that they work on the Dual Analog Logitch PS-style USB gamebad I use. It works out pretty well.

What is a Sega Master System II? I played the regular Sega Master system when I was a kid, but I was definitely a NES/SNES kid. Classic, classic games... I started out with arcade games at Chuck E Cheese, and a Coleco-vision (with an Atari 2600 adaptor) that i bought at a garage sale for $10. I usually end up being one major system behind; I lucked out with a cheap 360 within the last year, and my boy modded it and burns me games, so it works out well. I just can't take it on line for that same reason, but that works for me.

I love my team in 2K13.
