I've never been a hockey fan because I never took the time to learn and watch the sport. I've been following the Yotes the entire playoff series and they've converted me into a fan. I love the physical nature of the sport. Their goalie Smith is a stud. The excitement of shots on goal. I hope the team stays around because I've converted into a fan, for sure! Can't wait to go to some games.

Hope Coyotes can finish off Hawks tonight. Smith is the better goalie, but Crawford is crawling back into it. Gap in save percentage over last 10 games is narrowing. Meanwhile, the Coyotes have been getting only 18 shots in each of their last two games (regulation). Chicago is getting almost twice that many shots. Phoenix defense clogs up the middle, so Hawks not getting many quality shots, but Phoenix needs about 25-30 shots to keep the advantage on their side.

Game 6, first period in the books, scoreless. But Coyotes playing with fire. Just 2 shots against 16 shots for Chicago. Can't score if you don't shoot.

No kidding. Stopped all 37 shots. Coyotes 4-0. Very impressive!

Coyotes looked tired and beaten up today. But this team doesn't quit. They get outplayed pretty badly and somehow end up winning the game in regulation by a decisive margin. Incredible. Very proud of this team, and I couldn't be more happier for Doan, who gave this organization 16(!) years and just got his first playoff victory.

The "somehow" that they ended up winning begins and ends with Mike Smith. Period. He truly is playing elite right now and it carried over from the last half of the season. If a goaltender get "hot", lookout. Your goalie can single handedly win a cup.

Next round will be tougher. Predators are better in front of goal, scoring on 10.3% of their shots, with Phoenix at 8.7% for the regular season. Smith v Rinne save percentages for last 10 games are both very good: .965 v .949. Coyotes and Nashville split the season series 2-2. Smith was in goal for just one of these four games. All four games were won by the road team.

LA tough, but a little overrated now. They just beat a St. Louis team with a goalie that recorded a terrible .833 save percentage for the series.

Both defenses are excellent. Teams split the season series 3-3, with Phoenix taking the last two. They also fought for the number one spot in the division until the very end of the regular season. Coyotes won that battle.
