They're all on the same page, and play with a lot of confidence. One tight over-my-dead-body bunch. Amazing to see this culture now, from where it was a couple of years back.

Re: DBAX!!!
I think they're the best thing, sports wise, that we've got going in AZ. The Suns sure have been an exciting bunch lately too, especially with dwindled expectations. That's a testament to teamwork / camaraderie. The Dbacks definitely have that.

Re: DBAX!!!
Really, it's a good time to be a fan of any AZ sport. The Cardinals won 7 of their last 8 last season, the Coyotes won their first division title, the Suns are in the thick of a playoff chase and the Dbacks are full of huge potential and expectations.

Re: DBAX!!!
Dbacks do it again! Top of the 11th, 2-run HR by Young. He had an unreal Spring and it's carried over into the season already. Only undefeated team in the NL remaining. Cahill started off pretty poor with quite a few walks but pieced himself together and had a very good outing.
Trevor Bauer went 5 2/3rd innings tonight of shutout ball and had 11 strikeouts! Through 2 starts in AA he has allowed 0 ER in 10 2/3rd innings. Guy is going to be a superstar. His pregame warmups are things of legend that fans arrive early in droves to watch.

Re: DBAX!!!
When is Bauer getting the call up? I've been following him for a while and drafted him in my keeper league.

Re: DBAX!!!
I think it's either him or Corbin next in line if Collmenter struggles again in his next start.

Re: DBAX!!!
What about Skaggs? (any relation there, btw?)

Re: DBAX!!!
Skaggs would be just behind those 2 in the pecking order for immediate call up. I think they want to give him some more experience in the minors and control his innings a bit. No relation. When he gets called up I'll get a Skaggs jersey though! That will be awesome.

Re: DBAX!!!
So much for going 162-0. Way to let me down Dbacks. Damn disappointing sports teams in this town...

Re: DBAX!!!
One month into the season. Long season, but so far D-backs aren't nearly as focused as last year. Starting pitchers not on top of their game, bullpen very average. Hope they get it together. So far the season is symbolized by a 2 runners on, and no outs, with Roberts at the plate and a 3-0 count. He's in a hitting slump. And gets the ok to swing at 3-0. Hits into a double play. WTF?

Re: DBAX!!!
St. Louis is the best-hitting team in the NL, so I'm not immediately worried about the past two games. Saunders was due for bad game, and Kennedy has been starting a bit slow this season. Collmenter will be a good long reliever/set-up man. Rest of bullpen is OK, although a bit erratic.
Somebody needs to step it up at the plate. Montero presses a bit too much, Upton is struggling. Kubel is OK, but the promised power has yet to surface.

Re: DBAX!!!
The D-Backs are a good scrappy team that has to work really hard and will play above their talent level sometimes because of their work ethic. The Cardinals are the defending champions and they look like it.

Re: DBAX!!!
A 3-10 start to May. Ugh. Where did the real D-backs go? Who are these guys looking just like them?
-
Re: DBAX!!!
Joe Saunders has been a disaster this month. Can't pitch a clean inning anymore. Just batting practice for the opposing team. Even the KC Royals, who are 4-15 at home, are lighting him up through three innings.

Re: DBAX!!!
Much better in June. 7-2 so far. Problem is that Dodgers are 7-3. D-backs at .500, behind 8.5 games.

Re: DBAX!!!
Nice to see our bats coming alive and our rotation pitching well. Question is, who does Trevor Bauer replace when he gets the inevitable call up?
-
Gotta move Saunders and let Bauer replace him.

Pitching is not a problem. It's the inconsistency on offense, and the inability to manufacture runs. Wednesday's game is the most recent shining exhibit, when Miley threw a gem and the 'Snakes bats went quietly into the night.

Re: DBAX!!!
Nice to see the bats finally waking up and the Dbacks making up ground in the NL West / Wildcard. Looks like Bauer will be getting the start on Thursday in Atlanta. Should be interesting to see how he performs in the bigs.

He got called up? I must have missed it. I hope I can find it on TV. Anxious to see this kid's stuff.

Re: DBAX!!!
Yesterday's loss had a feel of the straw that broke the monkey's back. Gave up a 6-0 lead to lose 6-7 on 14-6 hitting. The team is just not getting over the hump. Every time it seems like they're ready for an increasingly necessary run to go over .500 they fumble the football. Where's last year's inspiration and fire?

Baseball is baa-aack. Let's get this show on the road! Go D-Backs!!

Re: DBAX!!!
Can't wait! Eaton is going to be a stud. Goldschmidt is going to rake. Prado is going to be our rock and clubhouse leader. So excited for the season. With such a terrible Suns team this year and my dwindling interest in the NBA in general, baseball can't come soon enough.

Surprised at your enthusiasm considering how bad the dbax got screwed in two trades this summer.
