The Blow It Up Thread
Rather than clutter the board with trade rumors and have people get pissed, I figured I would just post a few here and see what you guys think....
Suns Get:
Rudy Fernandez
LaMarcus Aldridge
Blazers Get:
Amare Stoudemire
Alando Tucker
Why Suns do it:
They get a bright young player in Aldridge and I really like Fernandez (the next Ginobili).
Why Blazers do it:
They get somebody that can score at will in Amare to complement the defensive minded Oden. It will be easier to accomodate both Oden and Amare than with Shaq b/c Oden is all about D.
Trade Idea #2
Suns Get:
Rudy Fernandez
Michael Beasley
Shavlik Randolph
Mark Blount
Miami Gets:
Amare Stoudemire
Raef LaFrentz
Ike Diogu
Portland Gets:
Shawn Marion
Why Suns do it:
They get young stars in Beasley and Fernandez, even if they have to swallow Blount's contract to make it work
Why Heat do it:
They can build around Wade and Amare and would have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs with a lineup of Chalmers, Wade, Haslem and Amare
Why Blazers do it:
They get the veteran experience of the Matrix who I think would fit in very well there. Plus he's an expiring contract so that is always attractive.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
I like both trade ideas, and have been advocating that first deal with Portland for a couple months now (with the same players, even). They have so much young talent on that team, which is exactly what we need. Miami is in a similar situation.
Looking over the details, I don't see why any team involved in the 3-way trade you proposed would turn it down. Win-win-win.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
I don't think Portland makes trade #1. Would you if you were them? I wouldn't.
Also not sure about #2. You turned Amare into Fernandez and Beasley? Methinks that's not happening.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
Finally some realistic trades that value Amare correctly.
You turned Amare into Fernandez and Beasley?
That's about fair. Beasley is going to top out as a Carmelo Anthony, who's less valuable than Amare for sure. Fernandez is good but still very young. Both are on rookie contracts--but the Suns take on some bad contracts.
The piece that doesn't work is that Portand won't accept Marion for two good young players, unless he agreed to re-sign at a very low rate (6 mil per year). Not sure if I'd trade Aldridge alone for him.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
Marion is not wort Aldridge at this point.
If we can get Rudy and Beasley for Amare we should go for it right now.

Let's not trade one head case for another.

No way Portland does deal #2, getting a washed up, overpaid Marion for two of their good young prospects.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
Sunshoop, that's about as realistic of a trade as I've seen here. This is a lateral move forwards for both teams. Neither Bosh nor Amare look like they'd stick around where they are at, but are more likely to stick around in their new locations. Ditto for Nash. Toronto fans are not happy with Caulderon because he doesn't play defense, but the Suns aren't going to lose him in 18 months like Nash. Excellent value for both teams, especially since Nash will be a hero in Canada.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
Here's one that works in the trade checker that I think will benefit EVERY team involved.
Trade ID #4970553
Suns get:
Marcus Camby
Eric Gordon
Jason Hart
Pistons get:
Baron Davis
Chris Kaman
Amare Stoudamire
Clippers get:
Allen Iverson
Rasheed Wallace
Alex Acker
Throw the appropriate draft picks in there if needed and here's why they do it.
Clippers do it for the huge cap relief they get this summer. Sure they give up a big piece in Gordon but sacrifices have to be made and Sterling most likely would rather have the cap.
Pistons do it because on paper it looks as if they get the better end of the deal talentwise and thrusts them right back into the mix. Plus Kaman is a hometown guy.
Suns do it because they get a piece that dramatically improves their Defense as well as a PG/SG that is young and can be a star. Hart can back up Nash if need be but Gordon would most likely be the back up PG at this point giving Barbs full back up SG responsibility.

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
nothing will work with the Bulls, anyone we would get from them is terrible except Rose

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
biglew.. y2jed... .all of your idea's are terrible.. no offense

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
I actually like y2jed's idea a lot, except for it makes Detroit a powerhouse.

Ok, yeah i agree on it makes Detroit tough but their D drops significantly as well. Also, would you rather Amare go to a team in the east or west? I for one want no part of Amare going to any team in the West.

I don't see where everybody keeps saying deal #2 is for 2 of their good prospects. It's Fernandez and Lafrentz and Diogu and some Randolph loser. Aldridge is not included in that idea

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
Chicago is a poor man's Portland. Both teams have young prospects, but Chicago's are a bunch of prima donnas that have no real game outside of Rose. PASS on every one of them

I dunno man. you said you dont want anything from the Bulls except Rose. That's fine I hear that but we're not getting Rose. Things we need to address as a team: defense, back up PG, and youth. We get all 3 in this deal and we only lose 1 player. I don't like Eric Gordon because he played at IU but he's gonna be a heck of a player.
That leaves us with a full roster with 2 small parts that can be packaged: Dudley, Tucker, and maybe even Lopez.
Trust me. I would like to see Bosh here but I wanted to find a trade that doesnt involve Nash.
Not sure what you are looking to get back in a trade. I realize my trade proposal doesn't blow the whole team up but I think it is a quality one nontheless

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
the one thing that's sure:
no single trade will make everyone here happy ( real or imagined)
Porter for a pack of Swizzle Sticks might be universally acceptable tho.....

Re: The Blow It Up Thread
We need to look toward the future. No Camby, etc. Young up and coming talent or picks only. I like the #1 trade with portlan mentioned in the first post.

You need to scale back your expectations. Nobody does that deal. Maybe 12 oz and a medium fry. Maybe.

Hell, I'd give him (Porter) away, only problem with that, is nobody would take him.
